These courses are intended to get you past the "jitters" that many experience when handling guns and going to a gun store or a shooting range for the first time. Depending on the course you select you will get an introduction or more substantial instruction.
These courses are only the first step to becoming an experienced and safe shooter and offer insight to what it means to protect yourself, your family and others, your home and automobile. Further training and a commitment beyond these courses are required to gain proficiency as a safe lifelong gun owner.
"I have been thinking about buying a gun, but I don't know how or where to start"
"What gun should I buy?"
We strongy recommend if you are thinking about buying a gun that you wait until after you have completed at least one of the two courses before making a purchase.
There are many reasons to purchase a handgun. A better understanding of those reasons will help you make a successful purchase.
Gun ownership comes with serious responsibility. Gun safety is NOT like riding a bicycle.
Ignoring gun safety can put you, your family and others, and your financial net worth at considerable risk.
We do not teach gun laws, but we do cover some of the basics and provide resources so you can continue your education and training.
We share some real life situations, like getting pulled over for a traffic stop, and how to handle them. What should you do when confronted in a threatening situaiton like "road rage?"
A lot of people are buying their first handgun. Buying a gun is a serious decision and has serious responsibilities. Why are you buying a gun? Do you have a plan for training and do you plan to EDC (Every Day Carry)?
Some are buying guns for home defense and think that a gun in the night stand is all they need. Without training, instead of bringing safety to your home, you could be inviting disaster.
Some are buying guns because they think they want to "conceal carry" in public. Concealed carry is not for everyone. Carrying a firearm in public without training is dangerous to you and others.
I bought a handgun and some ammunition . I keep it loaded and next to me at night. I took the first step, but it does not feel like I have done enough for home defense.
I would like to know more about proper rules for safe gun handling and making my home a safer home.
I worry about visitors getting freaked out or my children or grandchildren finding it. If I use the trigger lock that came with the gun, can I get it ready quickly if I need it in the middle of the night?
"I need help figuring this out."
" My husband has guns, and frankly they scare me a little. I would like to be more comfortable around them. I would like there to be some home safety rules for him to follow to make sure we have a Safe Gun Home."
I would like to know more, just in case I would need to use a gun for home defense.
Sometimes when I am shopping, I feel vulnerable and think, "Maybe I should have a concealed gun."
"It is time for me to learn more."
